Comp: Base $55K-$75K + bonus
The company, a niche player in the medium voltage distribution marketplace, is seeking an energetic and assertive individual to join their technical sales team in their New Jersey corporate headquarters.
The Inside Technical Sales Representative is responsible for market penetration and business development within the Utility Division. This role is responsible for maintaining and growing current customer accounts, identifying, and attracting new customers, meeting or exceeding sales targets and providing customer focused solutions.
The ideal candidate should have experience working with products used in utility grade power distribution systems such as electric utility power cables, connectors AND/OR experience with 5kv thru 35kv power cables, cable accessories, switchgears, transformers, and splicing. This role entails doing takeoffs interpreting on one-line diagrams, recommending solutions to customer problems, creating bill of materials for new construction as well existing systems. The candidate will be responsible for putting together a quotation or bid and following through on delivery and service issues until installation is complete.
Summary of Basic Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum of one to three years’ experience in the electrical utility products and/or utility and construction markets distribution industry.
- An ability to evaluate and solve both routine and complex problems cost effectively while meeting tight schedules to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Sales experience is an asset
- Strong multi-tasking skills; must be able to work on numerous projects at once
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in written form as well as strong attention to detail
- Possess good people skills to be successful in a small team focused environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word & Excel), Internet, Web Applications, etc.
- Negotiation skills, along with a customer service demeanor and the desire to be helpful
